Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)
Want a special project to round off your school year? Here's a great one for all ages, and they can provide unique trading cards/autograph cards to exchange as well. ATCs, or Artist Trading Cards, have taken on a whole new wave of popularity with artists. Students will essentially be taking the business card concept and turning them into miniature pieces of art, designing a card to reflect their unique artistic stamp and incorporating the various elements of art - there's no right or wrong way to do this. Tips and tricks are included at the links above; use regular playing cards to trace and create templates. Included in the 3rd link below is a specific classroom resource on using ATCs in the Classroom.
